Mid High

Mid high can be a tumultous time in a pre-teen or teen's life. At Heights Church, we know that and are here to warmly welcome your mid higher to our amazing youth group. Our youth sponsors love mid highers! We create an atmosphere of acceptance, love, and a place where your mid higher can grow in Christ. The youth band leads worship, our youth small groups give the kids a chance to open up about what's going on in their lives, and our youth pastor, John Challinor brings messages that are life-changing for hurting kids.

Our mid high department wants to get to know your mid higher. Mid High youth group meets each Wednesday night in the youth building, H3. This time focuses on small groups. On Saturday night and Sunday mornings, the youth are encouraged to sit in the "youth" section of the main service. Your teen is warmly welcomed to our friendly youth group with people who care. Also, there is a 9:30-10:30a service in the youth building for only 6 graders on Sundays. Come join us!

Our Youth Building...

Labeled "H3" from the outside, our youth facility has a built-in climbing wall, snack bar, and state-of-the-art sound system. Kids love coming! In warmer weather months, kid can go outside to play sand volleyball or basketball. Each mid-high student is viewed as special by our youth staff. Bring your mid higher and come check it out!

Pastor John Challinor joined the Heights staff in 2008 to work specifically with mid-high in November of that year. John's own experience as a young person drives his passion to reach out to kids who feel the draw of the world and all it seems to offer. In May of 2010, John took over leadership of the entire youth department- both mid high and high school.

His background with missionary training gives him an understanding of reaching people of another culture... and our mid highers do live and go to school in a culture that is unique to them.

Working with Pastor John, director of youth worship Brad Stretar takes great care and time with the youth.

Texting... Our youth staff is happy to communicate with your teen via technological means (such as texting, facebook, etc.). We have a form for parents to fill out and sign to either give permission or to decline this use of communication. We ask you to please download this form, print it, sign it, and have your child return it to the youth staff at any weekend service or Wednesday night. Communication Form.
