Associate Pastor

Throw out the stereotypical notions of what this associate pastorate looks like. Heights Church operates differently than any other church in the country, and this position reflects that. Do you want to preach? Teach your handful of disciples? Sit in an office and study? Then this job is not for you. But, if you're gifted in the areas of resourcing people, putting the laity to work (so we don't have to create more programs), run top-notch ministries with judicious oversight, and look for any and every way to reach people for Jesus Christ through carefully planned, excellent outreach... then you might be our guy for the job. Being able to connect people and light them on fire to serve is truly a God-given gift. If you can prove to us that you can and have done this, we're willing to take a look at you!

Women's Shepherd

Notice we didn't call this position "Women's Ministry Director"? That's because that is the last thing we want you to do. You see, women's ministries have a way of snowballing. Before long, all the ladies are divided from the men and children, and the very people in society who are taxed beyond belief with home, work, and church get socked with more and more things to do... while their families long for time with mom/wife. No thanks.

Instead, we're looking for a woman (age here is of no consequence) who understands that sometimes women need direction to live life as God wants them to. They may need someone to steer them... someone to put their arm around them and say, "You're doing too much, sister. Let's prioritize here, leave the guilt behind, and see how we can live free in Christ." While we may ask you to head up some Bible Studies, you will not primarily be teaching. You'll primarily be facilitating developing healthy young women, wives, moms, and even widows. Streamlining to get this done is a plus. Be fast-paced, creative, and willing to work your tail off. Enough said.
