ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 

What a person in this position does:

  • Answer phones and greet walk-ins, answer questions or direct them to appropriate Staff member or Ministry
  • Utilize database system to update and maintain attender/member information, run reports from database system to meet Ministry needs
  • Access Events tracking system to add events and request facility/room/equipment use for a Ministry
  • Assist Pastor in the daily operations of a Ministry

o   Maintain calendar and make appointments

o   Act as point of contact when Pastor is not available

o   Communicate to volunteers within a Ministry via phone or email, to set-up meetings or events, gather or provide information, and build relationships

o   Order materials or supplies as necessary

  • Perform Weekend Coordinator responsibilities one time per month or as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

Someone with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and can demonstrate:

  • Administrative and support experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing/managing database systems
  • Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working on a Mac
  • Experience utilizing graphics and web programs a plus
  • Must be professional, detail, quality & customer driven
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Displayed ability to exercise discretion and judgment, and a capacity for problem solving
  • Must be versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

ACCOUNTING MANAGER:

 

The Accounting Manager has the responsibility of insuring that the Heights financial operations are processed and reported accurately with integrity. This will include but not be limited to responsibility for the oversight, management, and leadership in the areas of finance, internal control, auditing, budgeting, and insurance. This position reports to and is accountable to the Director of Operations and maintains close working relationship with the finance team.

 

What a person in the position does:

Manage all financial reporting, maintain books and records, monitor cash position, oversee accounts payable, coordinate annual budget process and ongoing ministry budget review, know and assure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws; file the appropriate tax reports, arrange and facilitate audit work, including overseeing bank reconciliations, managing payroll systems, maintaining church fixed asset records, and supervising accounting staff. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and maintaining all facets of property and liability insurance. Work in conjunction with human resources to manage workers compensation insurance, health insurance, and other employee benefits. Oversee and report on weekly giving, review annual giving, produce year-end giving reports, and maintain tax reporting requirements.

 

What we are looking for:

The Accounting Manager will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and will demonstrate professional experience, capability for problem solving, and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Minimum four year college degree in finance/accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge in financial accounting, control, and reporting methods and standards within a non-profit organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Quickbooks.
  • Church or church-related financial management experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
